How are we accepted?

I was watching Oprah (yes Oprah) last week and Spike Lee was talking about his new movie Miracle at St. Anna.  In the movie there is supposedly an adorable young boy who doesn't speak any English and is not a trained actor.  Oprah asked Spike Lee where he came up with this young international actor?  Lee said it was simple; They held global auditions and thousands upon thousands of young boys turned out.  Many of these were poverty stricken children hoping for a break.  There were people who narrowed this group down to a hundred, and these hundred performed in front of Spike Lee and he selected the best one, whom Lee described as just perfect.  I thought to myself, "Thank you God that you don't chose us like Spike Lee chooses actors."  Isn't it cool that we serve a God who will never cast out anybody who comes to Him?  Go through the New Testament and see if you can find me one instance where someone comes to Jesus from a pure heart and does not receive mercy and acceptance.  It will never happen!  It has nothing to do with looks, talent, smarts, popularity, etc.  Jesus' invitation is simple....come!  If you show up, you are in!
